Menno Hall World Cafe Oct 27, 2022 at 7:30pm on Zoom

Join us on Zoom on Thursday, October 27th at 7:30 p.m. to discuss what living, eating, studying, praying, and serving together could look like at our upcoming student residence at UBC: Menno Hall. We want to collaborate on generating and refining ideas for aspects of the intentional community that we’ll create for a student body of over 100 people. This is an invitation for our supporters, alumni, and anyone else who is interested to help us clarify our vision for what student life will look like in our new building.

Register for the Zoom event at pcda.bc.ca/worldcafe to receive the connection information by e-mail.

Introducing Menno Hall

Introducing Menno Hall
Menno Hall will be a vibrant, distinct and connected community that will build on history, support change, and provide a positive new addition to the UEL. Visit the new website at www.mennohall.com. If you want to see Menno Hall become reality, please let the UEL Manager know at PlanUEL@gov.bc.ca before the submission deadline of 4:00 p.m. on Wed. June 15. Be sure to include your name and mailing address when you express your support for our rezoning application.

Breaking news: the Menno Hall project’s rezoning public consultation stage has begun!

Rezoning signIt’s been two years since the Menno Simons Centre closed, and we are now very excited to share our vision for a new Menno Hall student residence project at the gateway of UBC in the University Endowment Lands (UEL) since our rezoning application has been accepted.

Register with Zoom to join us for an Information Session at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 19, 2022. The agenda will be:

  • Presentation of some of the architectural materials that will be on display at the Public Open House event being scheduled for the beginning of June
  • Q&A time with the project development team.

The UEL’s public consultation period will run from mid-May through mid-June, so we want to inform you about what we’re proposing and how you can help.
